Another year of updates
$10 adds 12 months of releases to your license. Optional; Dabbit keeps working without it.
How updates work
Your Dabbit license doesn’t expire. What has a date is updates: every release published within 12 months of your purchase is included. Settings → Account shows the date.
After that date, the version you have keeps working, for good, with everything in it. Newer releases need a renewal.
What a renewal is
$10, once, for another 12 months of releases. It’s the same kind of key as your license, from the same place, and it covers the same Macs as the license it’s added to.
- Renew before your date and the new year starts from that date, not from today. Nothing is lost by renewing early.
- Renew after it and the new year starts the day you renew, beginning with whatever the current version is.
You’ll never be renewed automatically. The app tells you when a release is out that your license doesn’t cover, and offers this page.
Adding it
Settings → Account → Renewal → paste the renewal key → Add. The date moves; the next check for updates offers what you were missing. The key arrives by email from Polar, the same as your license did.
If you don’t renew
Nothing happens. Dabbit keeps picking, your palettes stay yours, and the version you’re on stays installed. If you ever set up a new Mac, the changelog has the download for every version, so you can install the last one your license covers.
