Your license covers every release published within 12 months of your purchase, and the version you have keeps working after that. Each entry here has its date and its disk image, so a Mac set up later can install the last version a license covers. [How renewals work](https://dabbit.app/renew).

## 1.3.7

24 September 2026 · [Download 1.3.7](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.3.7.dmg)

- **Check for Updates opens the update.** When a newer version was out, the button checked, found it, and then did nothing. It now opens the update window with the release notes and Install. With nothing new it still says you're up to date.
- **A quiet reminder instead of a hidden window.** When the daily check finds an update, the menu bar icon gets a small dot and the dropdown a "Dabbit 1.3.8 is available" row with **Update…** (right-click the icon for the same). Before, the update window opened unfocused and could sit behind everything.

## 1.3.6

24 September 2026 · [Download 1.3.6](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.3.6.dmg)

- **An install count, once per Mac.** The first time Dabbit opens on a Mac it sends the app version and macOS version to `dl.dabbit.app`, once, with no identifier. Updates and reinstalls don't send it. The [privacy page](https://dabbit.app/privacy) has the details.

## 1.3.5

23 September 2026 · [Download 1.3.5](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.3.5.dmg)

- **Around the color works with light brand colors.** A pale seed with Range set to Around the color used to squeeze every hue of a design system into near-white. The range now always spreads from a few tints above your color to a few shades below it.
- **One lightness curve.** The curve picker is gone: the choices came out almost the same, so every new system uses the one fitted from Dabbit's palette. Systems saved with another curve keep it when reopened.
- **More shade names.** `50 – 900`, `100 – 1000`, `10 – 100` and `1 – 10`.
- **Figma plugin, Generate tab.** From Selection takes one color per scale (read from names like `Blue/500`, or the sheet's layout) instead of the first 24 fills. No seed is added for you, and **Remove all** clears the list. Click a scale's name in the preview to rename it; the name is kept when you save to Dabbit. The window resizes from its corner, **Aa** sets the text size, and the plugin remembers both along with your generator settings.

## 1.3.4

23 September 2026 · [Download 1.3.4](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.3.4.dmg)

- **The trial ends properly.** After the 5 days, Dabbit pauses until it has a license: the window and the menu bar dropdown show one screen, Buy Dabbit… or Enter License Key…, and picking, the dock, the hotkeys, the URL scheme and the Figma bridge wait with it. Before, only picking stopped. Everything saved stays and comes back with the key. A license that Polar rejects pauses the same way; a paid license on a newer build than it covers is unchanged (picking waits for a renewal or the version owned).

## 1.3.3

23 September 2026 · [Download 1.3.3](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.3.3.dmg)

- **The loupe keeps up again.** Since 1.3.1 the default profile took two screenshots a frame, one for the glass and wide colors and one for exact sRGB values, and ScreenCaptureKit takes them one after the other, so the loupe ran at half speed. Now it takes one while the cursor moves, and the exact one when the cursor is still and at the moment of a pick, so what you copy is exact as before.

## 1.3.2

22 September 2026 · [Download 1.3.2](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.3.2.dmg)

- **Check for Updates works when a release is already waiting.** A scheduled check that found a release showed it without taking focus, so its window could sit behind everything, and the button did nothing while that was open. It now brings that window forward. A check that can't reach the feed says so.
- **Chrome band.** The band's metal is drawn once and turned as a picture; before, it was re-rendered on every move, which some GPUs did in software and the loupe crawled.
- **Hex (Display P3).** A new format: the hex of the Display P3 coordinates, the value a Figma file set to Display P3 shows. Plain Hex stays sRGB. Templates get `{p3.hex}` and `{P3.HEX}`.
- **Menu bar.** "Copied …" after a history swatch shows the value in your copy format, not always hex. A color outside sRGB is marked "Outside sRGB" in words rather than a lone triangle.

## 1.3.1

22 September 2026 · [Download 1.3.1](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.3.1.dmg)

- **The loupe sees the whole display.** On a wide-gamut display the loupe used to read the screen as sRGB, so a Display P3 yellow showed paler than the one beside it and picked as plain `#FFFF00`, with no warning. The default, now called **What the display uses**, reads the display's full gamut: the glass shows the colors as they are, a color outside sRGB is kept as Display P3 and flagged, and everything inside sRGB still reads exactly (`#1a73e8` is `#1a73e8`). Nothing to set; **Assume Display P3** is no longer needed for this.

## 1.3.0

22 September 2026 · [Download 1.3.0](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.3.0.dmg)

- **Account.** The License pane is now Account, reached from a row at the top of the Settings sidebar: a photo, the email your key was bought with, and where the license stands. The pane says what you have and what's on offer, buy on the trial, another 12 months of updates once licensed, nothing when the license is for life, then the key itself. Click the avatar to choose a photo; with a license and no photo, your Gravatar is used if you have one.
- **Shortcuts pane.** Every key Dabbit answers to in one place: the two global hotkeys (editable), then the picker's and the Library window's, as a list. Help → Keyboard Shortcuts opens it. General no longer carries the hotkeys.
- **Settings search.** A field at the top of the sidebar narrows the panes to those whose sections or rows match what you type.
- **Sidebars.** The Settings and Library sidebars share one look now, in the site's language rather than the system's: the current row in ink on a quiet fill, the rest muted, no accent blue, the same in both themes and whether or not the window is key. Same row height, text size, icon size and inset in both windows.
- **Settings header.** The pane's name sits on the form's left edge, over a bar the form scrolls under.
- **Library window.** Double-clicking the empty toolbar area zooms and un-zooms the window, as a plain title bar does. The inspector's empty states say what to do rather than "click a pick".

## 1.2.0

22 September 2026 · [Download 1.2.0](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.2.0.dmg)

- **The loupe wears the mark's chrome.** A thin band of the site's liquid metal runs round the glass. The highlight slides along it as the loupe moves and settles when the cursor stops. Settings → Picker → **Chrome band** turns it off for the plain edge.
- **Trial reminder.** While the trial runs, a small window at launch, once a day: the days left as a strip, then Buy, Continue Trial and Enter License Key. The menu bar's license line is legible now, with the same strip and a Buy button beside it.
- **Picker.** Starting a pick no longer hides Dabbit's own windows. Settings and the palettes stay exactly where they were, behind whatever was in front of them, and you can pick from them like from anything else.
- **Settings.** The window keeps its size when you switch panes; a pane taller than the window scrolls.
- **Disk image.** The installer has a background: the pebbles piled along the bottom and a liquid-metal arrow from the app to Applications, sharp on Retina displays.

## 1.1.0

22 September 2026 · [Download 1.1.0](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.1.0.dmg)

- **Licensing.** The app now knows its own release date and your purchase date, so the updater offers only the versions your license covers and says when a newer one is held back rather than failing. A renewal key extends the window by another year; a lifetime key has no window at all, and Settings says which you have.
- **Dark mode for scales.** A light/base/dark triad counts as a scale and mirrors, and shallow pastel triads mirror too. In the Figma plugin the dark set shows on a dark panel, Export follows the Light | Dark switch, and a file that allows one variable mode gets `Light/` and `Dark/` groups instead, with a note when a palette has nothing to mirror.
- **Around the color.** Each end of the scale is pulled back toward the seed until sRGB still holds 35% of its chroma, symmetric so the seed stays centred. Coral's top step is coral again; yellow's bottom step isn't brown.
- **Settings.** The sidebar is always there, as in System Settings, and the window's height follows the pane. In Formats, **Duplicate built-in…** is a pull-down at the row's trailing edge, like **Add App…**.
- **Manage in Polar…** in Settings → License opens your account: orders, the key, invoices, refunds. The old link had stopped working.
- **Fixed:** the export sheet no longer hands focus to a control when it opens.
- **Fixed:** the activation-limit message now says the license is per Mac and names both ways out: deactivate a Mac you no longer use, or buy another license.

## 1.0.1

20 September 2026 · [Download 1.0.1](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.0.1.dmg)

- **New loupe.** A rounded square centered on the cursor, with the sampled pixel at its exact center and the value in a small bar at the bottom. No card, no eyedropper glyph. It scales from 110 to 470 points.
- **Trackpads.** Pinch to resize the loupe. ⌘-scroll and ⌥-scroll now work right after scrolling the page underneath, instead of waiting for the momentum to die down.
- **Fixed:** starting the picker from another app brought Dabbit's palettes or Settings window to the front, over the screen being picked from.
- **Fixed:** for the first second of a pick, the loupe could magnify its own grid and aperture ring instead of the screen.

## 1.0.0

20 September 2026 · [Download 1.0.0](https://dl.dabbit.app/Dabbit-1.0.0.dmg)

The first release.

- **Picker.** A magnifying loupe with an adjustable aperture, pixel nudging with the arrow keys, freeze with Space, and ⇧-click to keep picking. Colors are sampled in the display's own profile and flagged when they fall outside sRGB.
- **Formats.** Hex, RGB, HSL, OKLCH, Lab, LCH, Display P3, Swift, Tailwind and more. Smart Formats copy the right one for the app in front. Custom formats from a template.
- **Library.** Recent picks grouped by day, palettes with sub-palettes, drag and drop between them, undo and redo for every change. Import from images, the camera or a website; export as CSS, Tailwind, JSON, Swift and others.
- **Generators.** Color scales and whole design systems from one or several seed colors, with a choice of curve, step naming, lightness range and gamut. A dark counterpart for any palette.
- **Inspector.** Contrast against black and white with WCAG and APCA, the nearest named color and the nearest colors in your library, color-vision simulation, and a channel editor with reset.
- **Color Dock.** A floating strip of recent picks and chosen palettes that stays above other windows.
- **Figma.** A companion plugin that sends selections to Dabbit, saves palettes, inserts swatch sheets, creates variables and styles, and fills layers live while you pick.
- **Menu bar.** Everything one click away: pick, recent colors, copy in any format. The icon can take the color of the last pick.
- **Automation.** A `dabbit://` URL scheme to pick, copy and add colors from scripts and shortcuts.
- **Updates and licensing.** In-app updates through Sparkle. A 5-day trial, then one payment per person, with 12 months of updates included.
